Uncommonly
known as the fastest racket sport known to man (where the
flight of the shuttlecock has been clocked at speeds of 260
kms/hr), Badminton has always been a popular sport in Europe
and Asia. The recent badminton craze sweeping through the
country has hundreds of thousands of newly converted aficionados
grabbing rackets and heading for the courts.
Characterized by high intensity activity punctuated by short
rest periods, badminton is a game that requires quick reflexes,
agility, speed and stamina. Players have been known to cover
more than 6 kilometers in a single match. It’s physical.
It’s aerobic. It’s fun!
As one of the three major sports promoted by clubsixfifty,
ample space has been allocated for badminton. The complex
has fourteen wood-sprung courts (7 are covered with Taraflex
mats); wood to lessen the stress in the ankles and knees,
reducing risk of injury and at the same time to increase the
level of play.
Each of the 15 courts is built using Kin Dry S4S Treated Wood
on a Floating Sleeper Sub-floor System with natural fiber
cushion for excellent stability and force reduction. Play
is optimized while safety is maximized.
